From the Heart

'Tis the season of shopping, gift giving, parties, family get-togethers, rekindling of friendships, and the celebration of Christ's birth.  This month can be wondrous, magical, and very special or it can be a nightmare!

It can be the season of stress, teeth grinding, headaches, the flu, long lines, and short tempers. Then comes January and the credit card statements or a shortage in funds because of over-spending in December.

Does overspending, standing in long lines and/or making yourself sick honor you?  Does going to get- togethers because you "have to" or because it's "expected" of you honor you?

What does this thought do to you?  The gift you bought someone last Christmas was "regifted" because that person didn't want, like or need it.

Rethink Christmas gift giving and rethink your gift giving list.  Make a batch of fudge for the chocolate lovers in your life, share your plants by giving starters to the plant lovers you know or make a big pot of chili then package family size portions in useful containers.

Or bake several batches of cookies for gifts or make several of those "oh, so wonderful" casseroles they all love.  Be sure to get your family involved in the Christmas kitchen festivities.  Love from your kitchen or your home honors you and those you share with.

Christmas is the celebration of Christ's birth.  It is a time to honor Him.  Honor yourself, your health, your peace of mind, and your creativity as well.

Compatible books with this month's topic are the booklets, "Thoughts on Being Cherished," "Thoughts on Relationships," "Thoughts on Life Purposes," and "Thoughts on Your Psychic Self," of the Warm Fuzzies series, all by Miss Dee.
